CEB has already taken up the challenge of preparing the new economic and financial evaluation service for company’s trademarks.
It is available online the publication of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) “IP Fact and Figures 2017”, which provides an overview of the activities on intellectual property (IP) in 2017.
The publication presents data and information related to four types of industrial property: patents and utility models, trademarks and industrial designs. The most significant data that emerges is that on the trend of international trademark applications that have increased of the 16.5% over the previous year according to Madrid system, furthermore Italy is ranked in 5th place in the world ranking of countries that use Madrid system, immediately after USA, Germany, France and China. (For further information: WIPO IP facts & figures 2017). In addition, EUIPO (Office of the European Union for Intellectual Property) has published statistics on the registration of EU trademarks. In 2017, almost 108 thousand applications were submitted, including over 8,000 applications submitted by Italy. Italy is fifth in terms of the number of applications submitted after Germany, the United States, China and the United Kingdom.
